My thoughts on a relative

This is rather disturbing..There is this somebody related to me whose mum is so overprotective of him that even when he resigned after working for 3 weeks (after being unemployed for 3 years since graduation!)she supported his move fervently.I'm wondering if she is alright.(I'll be too rude if I say she could be sick up there)I mean, I think he should be a bit more patient with nasty colleagues. There are crazy people everywhere. He is not getting any younger. He can't expect his parents to feed him forever... He can always try to work things out...

I also think that he does not see any urgent need to work because he already has a house (he's sharing ownership of the flat with his parents), he has a car, he does not need to contribute to the monthly installments...parents don't drive...I really don't know how else to offer advice. I think his situation is really a sad one.

Also, his mother has been against so many girls he tried to befriend... saying that girl has a big noselah, this girl is too kepolah, that girl is too richlah, that girl is too demandinglah...In the end, now he has nobody...

Why do I bother so much about other people? Well, let's just say he's a close family member...whom I think deserves my views but this may not materialise because he has a mum who is always poking her nose into every single tiny thing in his life that she will even unreasonably defend him. A really sad story.

That said, I think I better ensure that I don't pamper my children too much that they don't know how to fend for themselves...they must learn to survive in this nice-but-can-be-crazy world. The principle that applies when my children make mistakes...to reprimand/advice or do something to make them see their mistake and help them to improve...Never just think that whatever they do is right just because they are my jewels. Yes they are precious but when they do anything wrong, they must recognise it and attempt not to repeat it.

i guess that what love does. especially in a mother-child relationship.

it normally takes a third party to recognise the harm something like that does even if it is done in the name of love.

i only hope i won't be too blinded to confuse love with over-protection.
